Calendar
September 13 - Spring Creek BBQ Night Lewisville - Join your classmates and their families for dinner. 5pm- 9pm.
September 15 - Wear a college shirt to school
September 19 - PTO meeting in the TCE library
Math We will continue to work with numbers up to 20 to represent them in many ways. We observe patterns in our place value system that inform us how to represent, write, and express numbers.
Spelling/Phonics - We will study short /e/ sound. Please review the spelling rule with your child at home. The preassessment will come home on Monday. Thank you for helping your child with their spelling words!
Reading - This week we started learning the 7 reading strategies we use to help us solve tricky words when we read. We learned "Stretchy Snake" this week and will talk about "Eagle Eye" and "Lips the Fish" next week. These 7 strategies will give us a great toolbox of strategies to use when we become the boss of our reading!
Writing - We will be concentrating on wrapping text from line to line when we write while trying not to lose capital letters that start a sentence.
Social Studies - We will identify historical figures and other individuals who have exemplified good citizenship.
Science - We will learn about changes in matter caused by heating and cooling.
Announcements:
- Please remember to send your child's Ipad to school every day. Also, please make sure that it is charged every evening. Thank you!!
- The front car-loop areas are for our families that are dropping off and picking up their child(ren). In order to help keep our lines moving, we ask parents not to exit their vehicles in the car-loop lines. If your child requires additional assistance, please park in one of our parking spaces. We also ask that all families use the designated crosswalks when walking across the parking lot. This is for the safety of all our learners. Thank you for your help in keeping our kids safe!
- Please make sure to look at your child's daily behavior calendar. Our goal is for the children to color in the day with the appropriate behavior. Many times, the children forget. If it is not colored, please assume it is a great day. If you see a teacher comment, we would love for you to have a conversation with your child about what happened to receive the comment. Please know many warnings were given before a comment was written. :-)
- Please review and take out all papers from their take-home folder each day.
If you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Email is the best way to get a hold of us. If it's a general question, please email your homeroom teacher. If it's a question specific to an academic area, please email the teacher that teaches that subject. We are so excited to partner with you in your child's learning.

DISMISSAL
If you change the way your child goes home at the end of the day, you will need to email your teacher. Children will be sent home their "usual" way unless we hear directly from a parent. Also, please make sure that the teacher has responded to your email to ensure that we got the message. If you don't hear back from your teacher, please call the office to let them know about dismissal changes.
Celebrations & Birthday Treats
We will celebrate your child’s birthday with a spotlight on our daily school-wide announcements and a goody bag from the school that contains several items, including a coupon for a free treat in the cafeteria.
If you choose to send birthday food treats to school, they will need to be in their original packaging that lists ingredients. Please send the treats to our school nurse. She will look over the ingredients and then deliver them to your child's homeroom class. These treats will be sent home with the learners at the end of the day for them to enjoy at home.
